GOR DISKAK is the indie label where BERRI TXARRAK released our first 5 albums and the documentary DVD “Zertarako Amestu”, before we signed to Roadrunner Records. It’s been 10 years that became very important for the band.

Well, people in GOR DISKAK want to release a kind of Berri Txarrak’s Greatest Hits compilation album in October 2010. We accepted their idea but we asked them to invite our fans to set the song-list of the album.

That’s why we need your help. We need you to choose your favourite BERRI TXARRAK’s 15 songs. Then you must email your list to gordiskak@yahoo.es . You can win one of the 10 issues signed by the band.

The album will feature around 20 tracks of Berri Txarrak’s first era as well as the whole documentary “Zertarako Amestu”. This compilation album, entitled “DENAK EZ DU BALIO: SINGLES 1997-2007″ will be out in October.

Galder Izagirre will be the new drummer in BERRI TXARRAK, after Aitor decided to quit the band. Galder is one of the most important musicians within the basque scene as he’s been playing in such interesting rock bands like Kuraia or Dut.

BERRI TXARRAK will start touring again in October 2010.

Aitor Goikoetxea, BERRI TXARRAK’s drummer since the band started in 1994, has left the band.

We just want to wish Aitor good luck in the future and give him thanks for all he’s done for this band in all these years.

Tras compartir durante 16 años tantas vivencias, ilusiones y kilómetros en Berri Txarrak, ha llegado el momento de emprender nuevos retos y caminos.
Jamás olvidare todo lo vivido durante estos años, ni las razones por las cuales empezamos todo esto allá por el verano de 1994.
La música ha sido, es y seguirá siendo lo que me da aire en esta vida y por ello, tarde o temprano nos volveremos a encontrar por el camino.
Gracias por todo lo que me habéis hecho vivir y sentir en este tiempo en Berri Txarrak. A los que estáis cerca especialmente y a los que estando lejos me hacéis sentir como en casa.

Gorka Urbizu of BERRI TXARRAK is one of the guest vocals on the new project by Matt Sharp’s THE RENTALS: Songs About Time.

Gorka sings the Spanish version of the song “A Thousand Seasons Past”, included in one of the four CD/LP of the Limited Deluxe Edition by former Weezer bassist’s band. These vocals where recorded at Bonberenea (Tolosa) with producer Karlos Osinaga “Txap”, and the song also features backing vocals by Nerea Urbizu.

A Basque version of this song was recorded as well, but it hasn’t been released by The Rentals yet.

Gorka is also featured in three of the 52 videos of “Films About Weeks”, included in this Limited Deluxe Edition of “Songs About Time”.
